Post Treasure Hunting in Tasmania - Antiques
I love to find hidden treasures in country towns and I've heard that Tasmania is the home of antiques and links to Australian history. I want to travel there and would be interested in planning my trip around towns that have things to offer for a treasure hunter like me.

I am keen to hear from anyone who has some suggestions on the top spots for antiques in Tasmania.

Post Re: Treasure Hunting in Tasmania - Antiques
Hi, there are plenty of great places to get antiques in Tasmania. Indeed I would say nearly every town or region has at least one antique shop. Some of the best ones of course are located in the cities of Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie but there are also a few good ones in smaller towns such as Ulverstone, Latrobe (both North-West), Margate (South) and Deloraine (North-East) are also good options. Best place to start on your search is either yellow pages or perhaps try googling. There is also the option of just coming down to our lovely state and trying your luck on a treasure hunt holiday.

Hope this helps.

Was Tasmania used for incarcerations? I have heard of others finding some interesting artifacts about the island.
